JEWELLERY CARE
CLEANING
The most environment-friendly way to clean your Donna Barry jewellery is with bicarbonate of soda and hot water.
Place your jewellery in a bowl with a scrunched-up ball of tin foil and a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Pour hot water into the bowl and watch as your jewellery gleams instantly, then rinse well with warm water. Using a soft toothbrush and fairy liquid, gently brush the silver. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a hairdryer to avoid water stain.
The same methods apply to gold vermeil and ruthenium finished pieces.
A sealable bag will be enclosed with your Donna Barry jewellery. Store your jewellery in the bag provided to help prevent against tarnishing and to keep your jewellery looking fresh.
Over time precious metal, especially silver will tarnish. When your Donna Barry jewellery starts to tarnish, use the steps above to clean it. Please refrain from leaving your Donna Barry jewellery to tarnish for too long. The more tarnished it becomes, the harder it is to regain it’s original finish.
For pendants on snake chains, remove pendant from the chain and follow instructions above. For the snake chain, use a silver cloth and run the chain through the cloth with your fingers.
For any items with pearls, dip only the silver.
GENERAL CARE
Avoid spraying or applying any cosmetics to your body while wearing your Donna Barry jewellery. Apply any cosmetics such as perfume or hairspray before you put your jewellery on.
Avoid wearing your Donna Barry Jewellery when washing or swimming.
This will all help maintain it’s original finish and keep it looking in good condition.
STORAGE
The best way to store your Donna Barry jewellery is in an air tight container or in a concealed bag in your jewellery box. This will help prevent your jewellery from tarnishing for longer.
